Therapy
for
Donor Conceived People
So you’re donor conceived…
Donor conception is something that many people have heard of, and yet far fewer people are aware of the unique experiences that donor conceived people face. Wherever you are on your journey, you deserve support. Whether you are adjusting to a later-in-life discovery, or exploring a part of your identity that you have known about for years, I offer therapy specific to the needs and experiences of donor conceived people. My work is informed by Gestalt and Attachment modalities as well as awareness of ethical issues within the fertility industry and my own experiences as a donor conceived person.
Donor conception, particularly later in life discovery, can really shake up the snow globe of life. If you are wrestling with questions of identity, the possibility or reality of new biological relatives, shifting family relationships, grief, conflict, or confusion, you’re not alone and you deserve support. My approach to therapy makes space to explore these emotional experiences while also offering advocacy, education, and resources along the way. This client centered advocacy piece is important to me because while many therapists and loved ones can offer deep care and compassion for donor conceived people, not many are familiar with the landscape of the fertility industry, medical records, DNA testing, genetic genealogy services, DCP communities, and DCP led stories & media.
Group work can also be impactful to people exploring DCP identity and looking to build community. If you are interested in receiving news about the next process group I offer for donor conceived people, please fill out the form below and I will be in touch!
